Bank Transfers at Casina: IBAN, SEPA and the Waiting
Every other method on this site is a layer built on top of a bank transfer. Cards, wallets and open-banking providers all eventually move euro between two IBANs; the transfer itself is what happens when you skip the layers and send the money directly. It is the slowest route in the Casina cashier and, for large sums, the one most players end up using anyway.

Why the higher floor
A SEPA payment costs the same to process whether it carries €20 or €2,000, which is exactly why the entry point sits at €20 rather than the €10 that applies to MB WAY and cards. The economics run the other way at the top end: transfers usually carry the most generous ceilings in the cashier, so a player moving a serious amount will find the caps binding on every other rail before they bind here.
Making the deposit
The cashier issues the operator's beneficiary details — an IBAN, a BIC and, crucially, a payment reference identifying your account. Copy that reference exactly into the description field of the transfer in home banking. A transfer that arrives without it is not lost, but it becomes an orphan payment that has to be matched by hand, and hand-matching is measured in days rather than minutes.
Send only from an account in your own name. A payment arriving from a spouse, a parent or a business account will be refused and returned, because the rules that oblige the operator to know who is paying leave no room for third-party funds. Inside the euro area a standard SEPA credit transfer typically settles the next business day; instant SEPA, where both banks support it, can arrive in seconds, though the casino side still has to reconcile it before the balance moves.
Getting paid to your IBAN
Payouts follow the same road in reverse and inherit the same rhythm: 1 to 3 business days from approval, and weekends do not count. That window is the reason a transfer looks bad next to a wallet on paper — but it is also the rail that both Multibanco and Paysafecard fall back on, since neither can return money by itself. Sooner or later, most Portuguese players receive their winnings this way whatever they deposited with.
Two things decide whether the wait is three days or three weeks. The first is verification: complete it early, not on payout day, as our withdrawal guide explains. The second is the name on the receiving IBAN, which must match the gaming account exactly — an abbreviated first name or a missing second surname is enough to send the payment back for clarification.
When it is the right choice
Choose a transfer when the amount is large, when you want the movement recorded plainly in your own banking history, or when you simply prefer not to introduce a wallet or a card into the chain at all. Choose something else when speed matters: Trustly reaches your own bank in 1 to 24 hours by initiating the payment inside it, and MB WAY settles within the business day. The transfer's advantage was never speed — it is that it works everywhere, for any amount, with no third party holding your money on the way.
